#BeBraveDay Bridge Visibility Sign Wave

Join Indivisible Bowie & Beyond (IBBMD) for #BeBraveDay on 8/15. Hosted by Visibility Brigade and IBBMD. #BeBraveDay will feature hundreds of Visibility Brigade groups united in a single message “Be Brave with Us, We’ll Stand with You” with the goal to empower local and national opposition.
We will be on the pedestrian bridge over Route 50 near the 197 exit in Bowie from 4:30 to 6:30 pm on 8/15 (Friday). You can park at the Park & Ride off of Northview Drive and follow the path to the bridge.
We will have the large board signs and a couple of flags but feel free to bring others.
Some ground rules: We are a nonviolent organization. No violence or intimidation of any group or person will be tolerated. If someone is harassing you or our people, please let the event leader know. That extends to our messages. We keep it civil and PG-rated. No signs that could be seen as endorsing violence (ie “86-47”) and no cursing. We are respectful of our community. Please do not litter. Pack out what you bring in. All materials must leave with us. No signs or flags are to be left behind.
RSVPs are not required but are appreciated (and a good way to be contacted in case of weather-related changes).
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
