5 Calls

Direct communication with your representatives is the easiest and most effective way to make your views heard! Your call is logged and counted, and a large volume of calls on a specific topic shows a high level of constituent concern, which can influence a representative’s priorities and votes.

The 5 Calls approach makes it even easier! Simply enter your zip code and they will find the contact information for your representatives and, if you’d like, provide a script. All you have to do is call!

IBBMD 5 Calls Events

Every Wednesday, IBBMD members come together (virtually) to deluge our Senators and Congress members with a concentrated “storm” of constituent calls about a chosen topic. To participate, simply call your 2 Senators and one Congress member each Wednesday anytime between 12:01 am – 11:59 pm. The message changes each week and is typically relevant to current events.

Action: Call and Email to pressure Congress to vote on H.Con.Res 38/S.J.Res.59 which demands troops not be used for war in Iran without Congressional approval.

Background:

The US has been escalating tensions with Iran over the last several weeks. Saturday, 2.28.26, the U.S. and Israel launched a major attack on Iran to “eliminate imminent threats from the Iranian regime” calling for the Iranian people to “take over their government” when the U.S. is done. This upcoming week, H.Cont. Res 38 is tentative on the schedule for Wednesday or Thursday this week, according to Majority Leader Scalise’ calendar https://www.majorityleader.gov/schedule/weekly-schedule.htm.

1) Call early on this Messaging Storm to make sure your concerns are tallied.
2) Send an email using Indivisible National’s toolkit:
https://act.indivisible.org/sign/no-iran-war/

3) Consider following up with these talking points:

– Why aren’t you cosponsoring H.Cont.Res 38/S.J.Res.59?

– Why are you still taking money from AIPAC given their human rights violations?

– Thank your Congressional leaders who are doing right by this moment!
